So I had a customer come in who is a cabinet maker. He looked at my 6 Cylinder 2 Wheel Drive Tundra Regular Cab Long Bed. We drove the truck and he was impressed with the handling and the smooth quiet ride. Then the trouble started when he pulled out the tape measure and declaired that the tail gate cannot close with a sheet of plywood in the back. "The tape don't lie" he said. So I wound up going to Home Depot and here's what I did.

First I had to find some 4x8' OSB, fortunately they had it on sale! Out of my own pocket I plunked down the $6.64 in the name of science. A few short minutes later, I realized why I'm not in the building trades! Eventually I was able to singlehandedly wrestle the OSB into the back of the truck. As I suspected, it can lay flat between the wheel wells even with the drop in bed liner. But the point of contention was this... can the tail gate close without damaging the plywood?
Here is the proof!!!
Disclaimer: No wood or wood products were injured or abused at any time during this experiment. Documentation of purchase and subsequent return of said OSB are on record at Toyota of Portland. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME WITHOUT FIRST PURCHASING YOUR OWN TOYOTA TUNDRA FROM MARK HUNTER!!
